Minnesota West Hosts Community Send-Off for LadyJays Volleyball Team Ahead of NJCAA National Tournament

Minnesota West invites students, employees, alumni, and community members to join a special send-off reception honoring the Minnesota West LadyJays Volleyball team as they head to the 2026 NJCAA Division III Volleyball National Championship.

The reception will be held on Tuesday, November 10, at 11:30 a.m. in the Worthington Commons. The event will celebrate another historic season and give the community an opportunity to wish the team luck before they travel to Glen Ellyn, Illinois, for the national tournament.

The LadyJays are making their third consecutive appearance at the NJCAA Division III National Championship, which will be held November 12-14 and hosted by the College of DuPage.

Minnesota West earned its place at nationals after capturing both the North Plains B District

Championship and the NJCAA Region XIII Championship, continuing a season filled with recognition.

Among the team's postseason honors:

  • Most Valuable Player: Aleah
  • All-Tournament Team: Ava K., Camryn, and Aubrey
  • North Plains B District Champions
  • NJCAA Region XIII Champions
  • Coach of the Year: Brittney McNab

Earlier this week, the team gathered for a special team-bonding night and watched the NJCAA Selection Show together to learn the tournament field and seeding. Minnesota West received the No. 7 seed and will open tournament play on November 12 at 11 a.m. CST.

"We are incredibly proud of what these student-athletes have accomplished both on and off the court," said Minnesota West President Terry Gaalswyk. "Their hard work and commitment continue to represent Minnesota West in an outstanding way. We invite the entire community to come celebrate their success and help send them off to nationals."

Police Escort Route
Following the reception, the team will receive a police escort out of town. Community members are encouraged to line Collegeway and the team's travel route to show their support.

The team bus will begin lining up in front of Minnesota West at 12:15 p.m. and will depart at 12:30 p.m., traveling along Collegeway toward Oxford Street before continuing on to Interstate 90.

For those unable to attend in person, the send-off reception will also be available via Zoom.

The Minnesota West community encourages everyone to wear Bluejay colors, bring signs, and help create a memorable send-off as the LadyJays represent Minnesota West and the region at Nationals.
